Obituary
Margaret (Margie) N. Williams, 90, of Cincinnati, OH, formerly of Washington, died on Saturday September 12th at Christ Hospital after a brief illness. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church with the Rev. Michael Hay as celebrant. Interment will follow in St. John Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 p.m. - 8 p.m. on Thursday at Our Lady of the Visitation Catholic Church, 3172 South Road, Cincinnati, OH 45248 Friends may call from 4 p.m. - 8 p.m. on Friday at the Ed Lee Mortuary in Washington, Indiana. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Washington Catholic Education Endowment P.O. Box 916 - Washington, Indiana 47501 or to Our Lady of the Visitation, St. Vincent DePaul at 3172 South Road - Cincinnati Ohio 45248. She was born on February 19, 1919 in Washington to Arthur and Mary Ann (Donahue) Newland.She graduated in 1936 from Washington Catholic High School and later graduated from St. Mary -of -the -Woods-College. Margaret left Washington in January of 2008 to live near her son in Cincinnati. She was a member of Our Lady of the Visitation Parish in Cincinnati, Ohio, Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church in Washington, Tri Kappa, and was a charter member of the Legion of Mary. She and her late husband, John was very active in the former St. Simons parish and the Washington Catholic Schools. She resided at the Western Hills Retirement Village. The director of the Village marveled at how well Margie adjusted to her new living situation. She became loved by all. She is survived by one son, J. Christopher (Diane) Williams of Cincinnati, Grandson's Christopher (Amy) Williams, Ryan (Camille) Williams of Charlotte, North Carolina, Jeffrey (Niki) Williams of Portland, OR and Captain Colin Williams, USAF of Colorado Springs, CO. Great-grandchildren, Madeline, Cole, Owen, Gavin, and Stella Williams. Also surviving is her twin brother Jim Newland of Indianapolis and her sister Agnes Bailey of Green Bay, WI and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, John and her son, Michael, sisters, Dorothy Goodrich and Sr. Helen Rose Newland and her brothers, Bob, John and Paul Newland.
