Mary "Louise" Nalker, 74, passed away with her family by her side at 4:35 am on July 18, 2023. She was born in Washington on November 13, 1948, to Jack and Marianna (Burrous) Emmick. On July 27, 1967, she married Dale Nalker and he preceded her in death in 2004.

A 1966 Washington High School graduate, Louise went on to work at various factories in the Washington area, and later retired from the Daviess Community Hospital where she was a pharmacy assistant. She was a homemaker and enjoyed doing various crafts, sewing, and gardening.

Those who now mourn Louise's passing include her daughters: Jessica (Chris) Reed and Jennifer (Eric) Houchin, both of Washington. She leaves grandchildren: Logan Monaghan of Olney, Illinois, Daelyn Reed, Tatym Houchin, Kingston Wilkerson and Noah (Brooklyn) Dennis, all of Washington; a sister, Cindy Emmick of Washington; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Louise was preceded in death by her mother, Marianna; husband, Dale; grandson, Chance Houchin; sisters, Sue (Dennis) Huff and Kay (Brad) Duzan; and brother, Doug (Janet) Emmick.

Visitation for Louise will be 4:00-7:00 pm, Friday, July 21, 2023, at the Ed L. Lee Mortuary, 620 East Viola Avenue, Washington.

Funeral services for Louise will immediately follow the visitation and begin at 7:00 pm, Friday, July 21, 2023, also at the Ed L. Lee Mortuary. Pastor Brad Rainey will officiate. Interment will be scheduled at a later date.
