Steve L. Gray, 75, passed away March 2, 2023. He was born in Washington, Indiana, July 5, 1947, to Royce R. and Lillian (Fitzgerald) Gray. On December 21, 1972, he married Judy (Seidel) Gray and she has preceded him in death.
Steve was retired from CXS Railroad after thirty-five years of service as a member on the CXS Bridge Gang. He loved to watch NASCAR racing, enjoyed camping; but, his greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Those who mourn Steve's passing include his daughter, Elizabeth (Todd) Woodrich of Robinson, Illinois; grandchildren: Shane Warthen, Christopher Warthen, Jessica Smith, Tiffany Hill, Davey Hill and Katie Johnson; great-grandson, Christopher Logston (who Steve loved and raised on his own); and sister, Sue Taylor of Washington. Steve was also blessed with several great-grandchildren.

Steve was preceded in death by his parents, Royce and Lillian Gray; his wife, Judy Gray; daughter, Peggy Sue Smith; sons: Michael Lee Johnson and Harry Johnson, Jr.; grandson, Michael L. Johnson; and siblings: Pauline Fisher, Paul Gray, Joe Gray, and Jane Roach.

Funeral services for Steve Gray will be 4:00 pm, Friday, March 10, 2023, at the Ed L. Lee Mortuary, 620 East Viola Avenue, Washington, Indiana. Yvonne Evans will officiate. A graveside service and burial will be held in the St. John Cemetery, Saturday, March 11, 2023, at 11:00 am.

Visitation for Steve Gray will immediately follow the funeral service and will begin at 4:30 pm and end at 6:30 pm, also at the Ed L. Lee Mortuary.
