Obituary

Donald 'Robert' Bateman, age 79, of Washington, passed away at 4:21 PM on Saturday, February 12, 2022 at Daviess Community Hospital. He was born in Loogootee on June 14, 1942 to Virgil and Virginia Elizabeth (Taylor) Bateman.
Bob was a graduate of Montgomery High School and had retired from Kimball International. He loved NASCAR, fishing, and hunting and was an avid IU Basketball fan. Bob also enjoyed camping and the great outdoors.
Bob is survived by his wife, Brenda (Milligan) Bateman; his children, Michael Shane (Michelle) Bateman of Ohio, Robert James Bateman of Jasonville, Monica Brown of Washington, Dustan Bateman of Evansville, Avis Bateman of Missouri; grandchildren, Robert Bateman, Kyle Hoff, Dominic Hoff, Jacob Brown, and Marisa Bateman; brothers, Joe (Mary) Bateman of Washington, Tony Bateman of Columbus, Bill (Rosemary) Bateman of Ferdinand, Keith Bateman of Washington, John Bateman of Florida, and Gary Bateman of Otwell; sisters, Beverley Bateman of Missouri, Kathy Bateman of Owensboro, Kentucky, Mary Beth Williams of Dale, and Linda Bateman Loogootee.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents; a grandson, Jeremy Bateman; and a brother, Kevin Bateman.
Private Burial will be held at a later date.
