Phyllis, Ed, Anita, Karla, and Amy you all have our deepest sympathy on John's passing. I knew him as a teacher (I was a student at Montgomery when he started teaching), a colleague at Washington Catholic, a parent, and as a friend. John was always respectful and friendly any time I would see him. It was easy to see that he was a hard worker and a good man. Phyllis, you and John did an nice job with your children. As I recall, they were all pretty good students; hard workers, well behaved and respectful. We will keep you all in our thoughts and prayers.

My deepest condolences to Phyllis and family. John had a great impact on my life and I have many fond memories from my days playing ball for him, going at it in ping pong during PE and also while working for him. I always looked forward to running into him at different events and catching up. I hate not being present for the funeral but am vacationing and not around., know that I am thinking and praying for you all and John.

My thoughts and prayers are with John's family. He was the coach at WC when I worked at the Times-Herald and covered all the Cardinal games for the paper. I have always considered him a friend.

The loss of a dad, grandfather, husband, brother, uncle or friend is always difficult. It can feel as if a part of ones heart is empty. Under these circumstances our hearts are not empty. They are filled with the memories of the many experiences we have with them and the love within those memories live on. In that way he lives on. Sending all of you prayers of comfort and support.

Sincerely,

Frederick H. Evans IV,
