Obituary
Mary Eileen Nolan, age 90 of Greenwood formerly of Washington and Montgomery, passed away on Sunday morning at Johnson County Memorial Hospital in Franklin . She was born on December 14, 1919 in Daviess County to Earl T. and Catherine (Gootee) Mills. She was a member of Saints Francis and Clare of Greenwood and a long time past member of Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church. She is survived by three daughters and two sons in-law, Sharon Keith of Greenwood, IN; Judy and John Handick of Portland, OR; and Mary Sue and John Kane of Greenwood, IN; seven grandchildren, Brad (Kim) Handick, Brent (Karen) Keith, Tina (Brian) Frazier, Tonya (Trent) Hicks, Nikole (John) Williams, Chad (Wendy)Keith, Todd (Jacki) Kane; sixteen great grandchildren, three sisters, Norene Lucas, Alice Payne, and Jean Ellis; four brothers, Glenn Mills, Earl Mills, Robert Mills, and Ed Mills. She was preceded in death by her husband Leo Nolan on June 5, 1988, whom she had married on May 24, 1941; son-in-law, Roger Keith; two sisters, Ann Farmer and Elma Rose Hansen, and brother James Mills. She volunteered 20 years as a pink lady at Daviess County Hospital, was a member of the Altar Society, Legion of Mary, Daughters of Isabel, and Homemakers Club. She loved traveling, sewing, quilting (each daughter and grandchild received a quilt she made). A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church with Father Leo Kiesel as celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Peter's Cemetery.
