Dorothy Jean Steiner Hagerty, age 66, of Washington, passed away at 8:58 a.m. Saturday at Eastgate Manor Nursing Home. Born January 8, 1945, in Montgomery, she was the daughter of C. Michael Steiner and Mary M. (Fegan) Steiner. She graduated from Montgomery High School and from St. Mary School of Nursing in Evansville. She worked in various areas in nursing and retired in 2000. She is survived by her husband, Ralph E. Hagerty, who she married October 23, 1965, their twin sons with their wives, Nathan (Tanya) of Bloomington, and Eric (Kath) of Evansville; two brothers, John H "Jack" (Mary June) Steiner of Montgomery and Dan Steiner of Loogootee; two sisters, Jane Colbert (Larry - deceased) Washington and Anne Arvin (Ray deceased) of Loogootee; one sister-in -law, Barbara Steiner (Charles - deceased) of Montgomery; eight nephews; a niece; five grandchildren, Mya N. Hagerty and Kena B Hagerty all of Bloomington, and Sam P. Hagerty, Meredith K. Hagerty, Maggie B. Hagerty all of Evansville. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Charles and Jim;a sister Joan Steiner; and a niece, Debbie (Steiner) Shoultz. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday August 31st at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church in Washington. Visitation will be 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday with the wake service at 4 p.m. at Ed Lee Mortuary She enjoyed servicing on the Adoration Committee for the Immaculate Heart of Mary Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration Chapel for as long as she could.
