Obituary

James A. Mangin age 70, of Washington, passed away on Friday at 10:55 PM at Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes. He was born on September 8, 1938 in Daviess County to Austin A. and Thelma E. (Capehart) Mangin. He was a member of Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church, A.C. Tractor Club and was a 1956 Graduate of Montgomery High School. He was a Veteran of the US Army Reserves. Jim spent 15 years working for UniRoyal and retired after more than 25 years of devoted service for NASCO. Jim had a great love for gardening and sharing the harvest of that love with his many former co-workers, family and friends. He will be missed by his pug bog, Heidi who road alongside him will he mowed the lawn. He is survived by his wife Sue (Wilson) Mangin whom he married on December 31, 1961; two daughters and sons in-law, Renee and Allan Hentrup of Jasper, and Jamie and Paul Petty of Palm Bay, Florida; two grandsons, Alex James Hentrup of Jasper and Tyler Austin Petty of Palm Bay, Florida; three sisters and their husbands; Joyce and Larry Brochin of Washington, Patty Brothers of Vincennes, and Linda and Pat Mullen of Jasper; three brothers and their wives, Kenny and Dosia Mangin of Montgomery, Michael and Mary Rose Mangin of Loogootee, and Richard and Ruth Mangin of Flat Rock, Michigan; his father in-law, Ernest Wilson of Washington; and three sisters in-law, Agnes Mangin of Washington, Joan (Mangin) Holstine of Plainville, and Sandy Queen of Washington. He was preceded in death by his Parents, one son Troy James Mangin; two brothers, Bernard Mangin and Jerry Mangin; and his mother in-law, Frankie Wilson. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Wednesday at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church in Washington with Father Gordon Mann as celebrant. Burial will be at a later date. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 pm on Tuesday at Ed Lee Mortuary with a wake service at 7:30 PM Memorial donations may be made to St. Vincent DePaul Society Condolences may be sent online at www.edleemortuary.com
