Obituary

Russell L. Roman age 72 of Washington passed away Saturday at 8:21 pm at St. Mary Medical Center in Evansville. He was born on May 8 - 1934 in Champaign, IL. To the late Onnie (Roberts) and Walter Roman. He retired from SSX Railroad in November of 2005 after 45 years of service. He was a member of the Washington Eagles and Moose Lodge. He loved playing euchre, gardening, farming and collecting John Deere Tractors. Surviving is his wife Betty (Holland) Roman who he married on November 12, 1974. Also surviving are two sons, David Roman of Indianapolis, Doug Roman of Chandler; three daughters, Diana Fox of Chandler, Denise Nonweiler, of Chandler, and Debra Whiting of Selmer, Tn; four step-sons, John Holland of Jasper, Randy Holland, Darrell Holland and Gary Holland all of Washington; two step-daughter, Angie Hankins and Christina Hembree both of Washington; two brothers, Lowell Roman and Kenneth Roman both of Ohio; one sister Lois Tolliver of Colorado; 38 grandchildren; and several great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one son, Dale Roman in 2005; one granddaughter , Michelle Roman, 4 great grandchildren; his Parents; and 1 brother, Rolan Roman. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday at Ed Lee Mortuary with Pastor David Boyer officiating. Burial will follow in Sugarland Memory Gardens.
