Obituary
John B. Peek age 66 of Washington passed away at 4:30 a.m. Tuesday at his residence. He was born in Washington on May 29, 1941 to Bradford L. and Margaret Jean (Norris) Peek. He was a 1959 graduate of Washington High School where he played basketball and football for the Hatchets. He served in the US Navy and worked for Myers Locker before joining the JC Penny Company where he worked for 28 years with 22 of those years being in South Dakota. He owned and operated his own clothing store in Lemmon, South Dakota before moving back to his hometown of Washington. Surviving is his wife Joyce (Baugh) Peek, whom he married August 31, 1964; his mother, Margaret Jean Sperback of West Lafayette; two daughters and sons in-law, Michele and Monte Ackerman of Mobridge, South Dakota, and Katherine and Mark Boynton of Lemmon, South Dakota; two brothers, Jim Peek of Washington and Mark Peek of Lafayette; four sisters, Carolyn Hubert, Melinda Crocker, Barbara Wiggs, and Janet Osborne all of Lafayette; and three grandchildren.
