Obituary

Neil Gillum, 56, of Montgomery passed away at 5:05 a.m. Tuesday morning at his residence. Born October 14, 1951 in Frankfort, he was the son of Walter Dale and Blanche Elizabeth (Thompson) Gillum. A 1970 graduate of Frankfort High School, he was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, and Montgomery Ruritain Club. He was employed with Crane for the past 29 years where he recently was a Navy Engineering Technician. He loved bass fishing and golfing. Surviving is his wife, Mary (Bradley) Gillum, whom he married July 4, 1974; three sons and a daughter-in-law, Kevin M. Gillum and Erik E.Gillum both of Charleston SC, and Scott W. and Tara Gillum of Evansville; a daughter, Lindsey E. Gillum of Chicago, IL; two brothers, Gregory Gillum of Fayetteville, AL, and Kirk Gillum of Mulberry; one sister Gail Denton of Granville, OH; and two grandchildren Emily M. Gillum and Landon I. Gillum both of Evansville. He is preceded in death by his parents. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Peter Catholic Church with Father Jim Koressel officiating. Burial will follow in St. Peter Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at Ed Lee Mortuary with a prayer service at 3 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to purchase gas cards for patients receiving cancer treatment at the Lange-Fuhs Cancer Center or a cancer center of their choice.
