Obituary
Clarence J. Mandabach, age 96, of Washington, pass away at 10:20 p.m. Tuesday at Washington Nursing Center. He was born December 16, 1914 in Daviess County to John and Josephine (Stump) Mandabach. He was a member of Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, Washington American Legion, Washington VFW, and St. Vincent DePaul. He was a US Army Veteran of World War II. He is survived by three step daughters, Betty Williams and Patty Melvin both of Washington, and Joyce Ashcraft of Vincennes; three step sons, Robert Horsting of Shoals, Walter Horsting of Loogootee, and Frank Horsting of Washington; 31 step grandchildren; several step great grandchildren; and several step great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Agnes Mattingly Horsting Mandabach on August 29, 1994, whom he had married in November 1977. He also was preceded in death by a step daughter, Rita Martin; a step son Jerry Horsting; two sisters, Irene Cannon and Rosemary Mandabach; two brothers, Louis Mandabach and Joseph Mandabach; and one step granddaughter. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday at St. John Cemetery with Father Gordon Mann officiating. Military graveside rites will be conducted by Washington American Legion, Washington VFW, and Indiana Military Honor Guard. Burial will be in St. John Cemetery.
