Obituary

Albert A. Leu, Sr., age 85, of Washington passed away at 11:30 a.m. Monday at Daviess Community Hospital. Born August 13, 1923, he was the son of Harry August and Edna (Haltmeyer) Blair Leu. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran and had worked at the Plainville Machine & Tool. His hobbies included remote control airplanes fishing, and building things that created a challenge. Surviving is three sons, Albert August Leu, Jr. of Boston, Massachusetts, Harry August Leu of Barstow, California, and James Arthur Leu of Washington State; two daughters, Linda Mary Leu of Washington State, and Cathleen Rose Leu of Iowa; a step-son and step-daughter-in-law, George Henry and Lea Anne Rego of Washington; and 8 grandchildren, Heather Marie Leu, Tony Flander, Richard Dean Leu, Timothy Allen Leu, Brian David Leu, Trina Wiedenbach, Wendy Wiedenbach, and Amber Wiedenbach; four step grandchildren; and six step great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife, Mary (Wilson) Leu, on March 8, 2006, whom he married September 25, 1965. One daughter Shereen Leu and one sister, Mary Brown are also deceased. Graveside services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Friday at St. John Cemetery with Yvonne Evans officiating. Burial will follow in the cemetery. Graveside military rites will be conducted by the Washington American Legion and VFW. There will be no visitation. Ed Lee Mortuary is handling arrangements.
