Obituary
Jack Conrad Osmon, age 91 of Plainville, passed away at 8:53 a.m. Tuesday at Daviess Community Hospital. He was born October 21, 1919 in Daviess County to Homer and Clodie (Wadsworth) Osmon. He was a graduate of Plainville High School, a life long farmer and served as Steele Township trustee for sixteen years. He was a World War II U.S. Army veteran serving in the Normandy Invasion and the Battle of the Bulge. Jack had received five Battle Stars and a Bronze Star. He spent many years at home at Boggs Lake upon retirement before returning to Plainville. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Louise (Colvin) Osmon, whom he married February 24, 1952; four daughters, Jackie (John) Hancock of Bloomington, Janet Osmon of Odon, Lisa Osmon and Teresa (Terry) Ellis all of Washington; one sister, Virginia (George) Paulin of Chicago; grandchildren, JD (Andrea) Ellis, Kasey Ellis, Lynsey Osmon, Logan Stoll, Lacie McCord, Sarah Hancock; and great-grandchildren, Hannah Osmon and Blake Karns. He is preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, Kermit, Rex, Harland, Homer Jr, and Bill Osmon; and a sister Wanita Smith. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Ed Lee Mortuary with Rev. Don Smith and Rev Richard Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Plainville Cemetery.
