Obituary
Paul Morton, age 76, of Washington, died Friday, November 12, 2010 at 11:27 p.m. at Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes. He had been ill for about a month, but death was unexpected. Born November 24, 1933 in Tazewell, Tn., he was the son of the late William and Liddie (Gions) Morton. He was educated in the Tennessee schools. He served in the United States Army from August 29, 1956 thru August 18, 1958, stationed in Germany. He was united in marriage June 29, 1968 to Phyllis Granger. Paul accepted Christ at an early age and at the time of his death he was a member of the First Baptist Church of Wheatland. Paul was self employed as an electrician and a farmer for several years. He also had worked at Tokheim. At the time of his death he was a driver for Williams Brother's Healthcare. He is survived by his wife, Phyllis Morton; one brother, Charles Morton of Indianapolis; special sister, Sallie Fields and her husband, James of Indianapolis; one brother-in-law, Rev. Robert Granger and his wife Joyce of Washington; several nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews; and great-great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Bonnie McReynolds; and one brother, Raymond Morton. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, November 18, 2010 at First Baptist Church of Wheatland with Rev. Robert Granger officiating,. Burial will follow in Wheatland Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, November 17, 2010 at Ed Lee Mortuary in Washington and from 10 a.m. until time of service on Thursday at the church.
