Obituary
John Edger Halbert, age 73, of Washington, passed away at 3:45 AM on Wednesday at his residence. He was born on November 23, 1935 in Washington to Ed and Thelma (Belcher) Halbert. He was a graduate of Washington High School and was a disable US Army veteran having served in the Korean War and Vietnam War. He was a member of the Washington VFW and the Washington Moose Lodge. He is survived by his wife Annabelle (Reed) Halbert whom he married on May 11, 2007; one daughter Karen Halbert of California; three sons Al Holbert, Jimmy Halbert,, and Bobby Halbert all of California; one step daughter, Sharon (Mark) Phillips of Springville; six step sons, Bobby (Regina) Tencher of Washington, Bradley (Angie) Tencher of Salem, Phillip Tencher of Cambellsburg, Paul Tencher of Washington, Greg Tencher of Washington and Randy Tencher of Salem; four grandchildren; two sisters, Lois Ann Wininger of Wasgington and Brenda Morgan of Corydon; one brother Don Halbert of Washington; two great grandchildren; sixteen step grandchildren; and 20 step great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister Beverly Howard; and one brother Billy Halbert. Funeral services will be on Friday at 7:00 PM at Ed Lee Mortuary with Gaylan Sommers officiating.
