Obituary

Dr. Bernard N. Grannan, age 85, of Washington passed away on Saturday February 20, 2010 at 6:00 PM at Deaconess Hospice Care Center in Evansville. He was born on February 10, 1925 in South Bend, Indiana to Bernard and Corrine (Norris) Grannan. He was a 1943 graduate of Washington Catholic High School, attended St Joseph University in Rensselaer, Indiana, and graduated from St. Louis School of Dentistry. Her served in the US Navy in World War II, was a member of the Knights of Columbus, 4th Degree Knights of Columbus, Washington VFW and was a passed member of the Washington Elks Lodge. He loved going to the horse races and helping his friend farm. He is survived by his wife Jacqueline 'Jackie" (Fridrich) whom he married on June 12, 1954; one daughter and son in-law, Mary Beth and Michael Lancaster of Sterling, Illinois; four sons and daughters in-law, Bernard f. 'Rick' and Nancy Grannan and John 'Chris' Grannan all of Washington, Paul T. Grannan of Evansville, and Gerald 'Jerry' and (Christy) Grannan of Jackson, Michigan; five grandchildren Christopher McCauley, Katy Lancaster, Allie Lancaster, John Grannan, and Jenna Grannan A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Saturday March 13, 2010 at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church. Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Memorial domations may be made to St Jude's Childrens Research Hospital 5601 St Jude Place-Memphis, Tennessee, 38105-1942. Ed Lee Mortuary is handling arrangements.
