Donna K. (Dalton) Gentry, age 70 of Washington, passed away at 2:08 p.m. Wednesday at her home surrounded by her loving family. Born at home in Eureka, Indiana November 16, 1940, she was the daughter of Woody and Lucretia (Goens) Dalton. Donna gave to our community in many ways. She was the Founder of the Pregnancy Care Center of Washington and for the past 12 years has given countless hours of service there. She was a member of the Daviess County Right to Life where she served as president for 13 years. She was a member of the Monday Afternoon Club, Daviess County Republican Women, Citizens for Family Values, Daviess Community Hospital Auxiliary, and a longstanding member of the Assembly of God Church of Washington. She was the coordinator of the National Day of Prayer in Washington and a former board member of Indiana Right to Life. She attended Harvest Community Fellowship and the Abundant Life Church. She was awarded the Kiwanis Club Church Person of the Year in 1988, the Daviess County Right to Life Pro-Life Award in 1994, the Pregnancy Care Center Director Emeritus Award in 1999, and the Daviess County Right to Life Community Service Award in 2008. She believed in strong family values and loved spending time with her family. She is survived by her husband, Garland R. Gentry, whom she married June 27, 1970; four sons and daughters-in-law, Bradley and Michele Rainey, Scott and Brenda Rainey, Donald and Karen Rainey, and Brian and Lori Rainey all of Washington; step-children, Randy Gentry, and Linda (Ron) Drew all of Linton; a sister, Sue (Kenny) Hack of Mitchell; two brothers Kenny Dalton of Bedford, and Jack (Linda) Dalton of Las Vegas; eight grandchildren, Nathanial (Brandi) Rainey, Nolan Rainey, Larry Rainey, Matthew (Shayna ) Rainey, Laura Rainey, Brianne (John) Davidson, Logan Rainey, and Mary Rainey; nine step-grandchildren, Garlene (Ritchie) Burns, Sherri (Gene) Spinks, Janie (Gene) Secrest, Rhonda Drew, Jeremy(Chrystal) Gentry, Kyle Gentry, Rita Eblin, Erin Eblin, and Sara Eblin; seven great-grandchildren, Hannah Rainey, Ava Rainey, Aspen Rainey, Adara Rainey, Carter Rainey, Abigail Davidson, and Jordyn Davidson; and thirteen step-great-grandchildren, Nikki Burns, Caleb Burns, Weston Spinks, Shanae Spinks, Lindsey Jones, Jaysidee Gregory, Jacob Gregory, Adrienn Gregory, Alex Johnson, Gabe Gentry, Brooklyn Gentry, Lynden Evans and Hayden Evans. She is preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Gene Dalton; and a grandson, Nicholas Rainey. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Antioch Christian Church. Burial will follow in Sugarland Memory Gardens. Visitation will be 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at the church and 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Saturday. Ed Lee Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
