Obituary
William Morton Butler, age 79, of Washington, passed away at 4:15 AM on Wednesday at his residence. He was born on June 28, 1931 in Vincennes to Thomas and Helen (Bicknell) Butler. He was a member of Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. He was a US Navy Veteran of the Korean War and had retired from NSWC Crane IN 1991 after 29 years of services. After retirement he and his wife Phyllis owned and operated Butler's Catering Service until they both retired once again. He had owned and operated Butler's Antique Store and enjoyed buying and selling antiques. He also kept himself busy transporting and working with the Amish for several years. He is survived by his wife Phyllis (Templin) Butler whom he married on December 30, 1952; two sons, Paul (Lori) Butler of Atlanta, Georgia and John(Linda) Butler of Nashville, Tennessee; three Daughters, Anne Good, Joan (Kevin) Russell, and Frances (Larry) Hinkle all of Washington; eighteen grandchildren; and thirteen great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one son, Billy Butler; his parents; and two brothers, Kenneth Butler and Harold Butler. A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 PM on Friday at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church with Father Gordon Mann as celebrant. Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery with military graveside rites by the Washington American Legion and VFW. Visitation will be from 10 AM to 12:30 PM at Ed Lee Mortuary.
