Betty Schlotter, 81, went to her heavenly home on Friday morning, January 9, 2026, in Madison Ohio.
Betty was born on September 16, 1944, in Washington, Indiana to Ruth (Hinkle) Bateman and Cecil Bateman. She was a talented and dedicated beautician who proudly owned and operated her own business for many years. Through her work, she not only styled hair but also built lasting friendships and brought confidence and joy to those she served.
On February 17, 1968, Betty married the love of her life, Leo Schlotter, with whom she shared many cherished years until his passing in 2018. Their marriage was built on love, devotion, and family.
Betty was a loving mother and grandmother whose family meant everything to her. She is survived by her son, Chad (Monika Plata) Schlotter of Noblesville, Indiana; daughter, Mandy (Carl) Boyles of Ohio; and her brother, Reldon Bateman. She was a proud grandmother to her five wonderful grandchildren: Katelyn (Chris Conder), Kyle, and Kolden Schlotter, and Ella and Grayson Boyles, who brought her immense joy and pride.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Ruth (Hinkle) Bateman; her father, Cecil Bateman; and her beloved husband, Leo Schlotter.
Betty will be remembered for her kind heart, strong work ethic, and the love she shared with her family and friends. Her legacy of love and faith will live on in all who knew her.
Funeral Services for Betty will be at 12:00 noon on Saturday January 17, 2026, at Ed L Lee Mortuary with Yvonne Evans officiating. Burial will follow in St John Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 10 till service time on Saturday at Ed Lee Mortuary.
