Obituary
Blake Bernard Haag, 65, passed away at his Plainville residence on April 30, 2025. He was born on January 28, 1960, in Waukegan, Illinois, the son of Larry Bernard and Judy (Sievers) Haag.
Blake was a loving son, brother, dad, grandfather, and friend. He loved to cook and enjoyed teaching his granddaughter, Amya, all he knew about baking. Possessing a generous spirit, he loved to feed others, especially friends and family. Blake also cooked for his friends at the gas station in Plainville.
Blake had a quirky sense of humor that was much appreciated by his friends and family. Although he had lost both of his legs later in life, that did not stop him. He took care of himself independently and could do more than people who had two legs.
Blake often cruised around Plainville in his wheelchair or golf cart with his two fur babies, Stumpy and Dan. Whenever he was out and about, Blake took every opportunity to stop and talk with friends and neighbors. He was a former member of the Eagles 414 Aerie and Auxiliary.
Blake is survived by his mother, Judy Thurston; daughter, Molly Haag; sisters: Angela (Charles) Sams, Lori (Keith) Morton; stepbrothers: Josh (Erin) Thurston, Jeremy (Amanda) Thurston; grandchildren: Elijah Blake Breeden, and Amya Jean Lesure; and several nieces and nephews as well as many friends. He cherished the time he spent with his special friends -- Kelly, Kristen and Kolton Stedman.
Blake was preceded in death by his stepfather, Mike Thurston; and grandson, Rashad Anthony Lesure.
In keeping with Blake's wishes, he will be cremated and there will be no services. The family is planning a Celebration of Life for a later date.
