Obituary

Lawrence "Larry" Mangin Capehart, 84, passed away at his Washington residence the morning of December 20, 2024. He was born in Washington on November 2, 1940, the son of Austin Lee, Sr. and Viola Emma (Mangin) Capehart.

Larry was a 1958 graduate of Washington Catholic High School who went on to serve his country honorably in the United States Army. He was Vietnam veteran. Larry enjoyed fishing, painting the interiors and exteriors of houses, and playing basketball with his nieces and nephews. He was of the Catholic faith.

Those left to cherish Larry's memory include his sisters, Shirley Capehart Ross of Washington and Darlene O'Haver of Odon.; as well as several nieces and nephews.

During his lifetime, Larry mourned the loss of his parents, Viola and Austin Capehart, Sr.; brother, Austin Capehart, Jr.; and nephew, Stephen Capehart.

There will be a graveside service for Lawrence Capehart at 2:30 pm, Monday, December 23, 2024, at the St. John Cemetery. Yvonne Evans will officiate.
