Obituary
Alice (Reynolds) King, 77, passed away at her Washington residence with her family by her bedside during the morning of August 6, 2024. She was born in Wheatland, March 10, 1947, to Noah and Goldie (McLaughlin) Reynolds. On October 16, 1964, she married John W. King, Jr.; he passed away February 21, 2022.
Alice was a cook at various restaurants and, most recently, at the Daviess County Jail. Family members fondly recall the delicious breakfasts she could make. It was also well known she loved her cats - at one point, she had eighteen.
Those who now mourn Alice's passing include her children: John W. King III of Vincennes; Angela F. Smeltzer of Washington; Kevin E. King of Washington; and Teresa Cruz of Owensboro, Kentucky. Alice was blessed with thirteen grandchildren: Blaine King; Aiden King; Christian (Samantha) Smeltzer; Trenton (Sarah) Smeltzer; Kiersten Smeltzer; Cortni Cassell; Casey (Zachary) Wininger; Bridget (Matthew) Ross; Alyson King; Zachary (Shanda) King; Breanna King; Sean (Ellie) Buckley; and Derrick (Amber) Crews. She leaves several great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and sisters-in-law: Cheryl Dobbyn, Debra Hatton, and Kolleen Drew.
During her lifetime, Alice grieved the loss of her parents, Noah and Goldie Reynolds; her husband, John W. King, Jr.; daughter, Charlotte King; a daughter who died in infancy, Beverly King; siblings: Herschel Reynolds; Mary Decker; Wilma Grove; Oneda Cornelius; and Connie Pickett.

Visitation for Alice King will be 10:00 am - 1:00 pm, Friday, August 9, 2024, at the Ed L. Lee Mortuary, 620 East Viola Avenue, Washington, Indiana.
Funeral services for Alice King will immediately follow the visitation on Friday, August 9, 2024, and begin at 1:00 pm, also at the Ed L. Lee Mortuary. Burial will be in the Oak Grove Cemetery.
