Edward "Scott" Bennett, 68, passed away at his Washington residence the morning of February 8, 2024. He was born in Madison, Indiana, January 18, 1956, to Henry A. and Helen F. (Behr) Bennett. On February 14, 1976, he married his Valentine, Marla Wildman, and for the next forty-seven years, they created a loving home for their three sons and grandchildren.

A 1974 Washington High School graduate, Scott was employed by Sodexo where he was member of the grounds crew who worked at area schools. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed golfing and fishing. Scott was a forty-six-year member of the 20th Century Chevy Car Club and loved anything to do with cars and drag racing. He was a devoted family man and enjoyed spending time with his sons and grandchildren. He was a devout Catholic and a member of St. Peter Catholic Church in Montgomery.

Those who mourn Scott's passing include his wife, Marla Bennett; sons, Jeremy (Amy) Bennett of Washington, Michael Bennett of Evansville, and Matthew Bennett of Washington. Scott was blessed with five grandchildren: Logan Bennett; Mikayla Bennett; Bryce Bennett; Colin Bennett; and Braylee Bennett; he leaves three siblings: Lee Bennett; Marty (Julie) Bennett; and Tracey (Bill, Jr.) McCain, all of Washington. Additionally, Scott leaves his mother-in-law, Monette Wildman; four sisters-in-law, Mary Bennett, Myra Lawyer, Dorothy (Moe) Arab, Donna (Tim) Strickland and several nieces and nephews.

During his lifetime, Scott grieved the loss of his parents, Helen and Henry Bennett; brother, Dan Bennett; father-in-law, Don Wildman; and sister-in-law, Susan Bennett.

Visitation for Scott Bennett will be 4:00-8:00 pm, Monday, February 12, 2024, at the Ed L. Lee Mortuary, 620 East Viola Avenue, Washington, Indiana.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Scott Bennett, 11:00 am, Tuesday, February 13, 2024, at the St. Peter Catholic Church, Montgomery, Indiana. Father Sudhakar Bhastati will be the celebrant. Burial will be in the St. John Cemetery, Washington, Indiana.
