Obituary

Mary Ann (Holt) Doyle, 90, passed away December 6, 2022, at the Amber Manor Care Center in Petersburg, Indiana. She was born in Wheatland, Indiana, on March 10, 1932 to Elmer and Helen (Prullage) Holt. Following the death of her mother in 1939, Mary Ann lived with her aunt, Clara Prullage, in Vincennes, Indiana. She attended Vincennes schools and following graduation from the St. Rose Academy in 1950, she worked as an Indiana Bell operator.

On May 17, 1952, Mary Ann married Charles Doyle. They celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in 2012, five months before Charles' death. Their three children, Rosalyn, David, and Mark survive.

Mary Ann's family was her top priority - she attended every school and sporting event in support of her children. The neighborhood kids were always welcome in her home and they knew, if they ever needed anything, Mary Ann would be there for them.

In addition to being a wonderful wife, mother and friend, Mary Ann was an excellent cook; and for many years, she served as the kitchen manager for the Washington High School Food Service Department. Most students knew her as "the big blonde lady" in the cafeteria. Following her retirement, she donated her time to various charity organizations.
Mary Ann and Charles loved to travel; they vacationed throughout the United States, Canada and Mexico. They always looked forward to visiting their children and grandchildren in Louisiana, California and Idaho.

Those who now mourn Mary Ann's passing include her daughter, Rosalyn (Richard) Eason of Kenner, Louisiana and their sons, Blake (Ashley), Kyle and Grant; great-grandchildren, Evan and Clare; her son, David (Louise) Doyle of Cupertino, California, and their children, Christopher and Angela; her son, Mark (Susan) Doyle of Vancouver, Washington; and their son, Dominic. Mary Ann also leaves her sister-in-law, Jean Sorenson; and her brothers-in-law, Lewis Doyle and Thomas (Dot) Doyle.

Mary Ann was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Helen Holt, and her husband, Charles Doyle.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be given in memory of Mary Ann Doyle to the Catholic Community of Washington, 315 NE 3rd Street, Washington, Indiana. 47501.
