Obituary

Carol Lytton, 86, passed away at her Emerald Place residence in Washington, March 28, 2022. She was born in Springfield, Illinois, December 19, 1935, to Michael and Emma (Dolack) Lascody. On October 9, 1954, she married Richard "Dick" Lytton and they made their home together until his passing on July 24, 2007.

Carol was a graduate of the Ursuline Academy, Springfield, Illinois. She was an avid St. Louis Cardinal and IU basketball fan. Carol was a skilled homemaker who enjoyed decorating her home, loved needlecrafts, Sudoku, and was a lifetime sewist. She always looked forward to summer when she loved to tend to her flowers. Carol was a devout Catholic and was a faithful member of Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church. She cherished her role as a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.

Those who mourn Carol's passing include her son, Keith Lytton of Fort Wayne; daughters, Lisa (Don) Arvin of Evansville and Stephanie (Greg) Deaves of Washington. Carol was blessed with four grandchildren: Matthew (Chelsea) Arvin of Nashville, Tennessee; Lauryn Lytton and Courtney Lytton of Vincennes; and Michael Deaves of Washington. She leaves three great-grandchildren: Audrey Raney; Asher Raney; and Melaina Arvin.

Carol is now reunited with her loved ones who preceded her in death: her parents, Emma and Michael Lascody; her husband, Richard Lytton; and her siblings: Mary DeCroix; Emma Hardy; Michael Lascody; Larry Lascody; Dorothy Bailey; and Rose Sweet.

Contributions may be made in Carol's memory to the Catholic Education Endowment, INC, PO Box 916, Washington, Indiana 47501.

Visitation for Carol Lytton will be 4:00-8:00 pm, Thursday, March 31, 2022, at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church. The family requests that all visitors wear a mask.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 pm, Friday, April 1, 2022, at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church. Father Paul Ferguson will be the celebrant. (The family requests that those attending wear a mask.)

Burial will be at a later date in Camp Butler National Cemetery, Springfield, Illinois.
