Obituary

Norma J. VanLue, 88, passed away while at the Ketcham Memorial Center in Odon, November 25, 2021. She was born in Washington, February 8, 1933, to Carl and Irma (Wuertz) Alberti. On August 11, 1951, Norma married Noble VanLue and together they provided a loving home for their large family until his death in 2003.

A 1951 graduate of Washington Catholic Schools, Norma worked at the Williams Brothers Pharmacy, and more recently for the Arnold's Red and White Grocery Store, after which she retired. She was a member of Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church.

Norma was an avid card game player, especially Euchre. She loved Bingo, the Cubs, and IU basketball. Norma was a good cook; her family still fondly recalls her meatloaf and chicken and dumplings as their favorite meals. Norma never saw a stranger which allowed her to "collect" a very large extended family of friends and neighbors.

Those who now cherish Norma's memory include her three sons: Danny (Klaartje) VanLue of Lone Jack, Missouri; Chris (Barbara) VanLue of O'Fallon, Missouri; Mike VanLue of Washington; her five daughters: Donna (Steve) Worland of Washington; Susan (David) Boger of Washington; Cathy (Kevin) Heil of Washington; Lisa (David) Woodruff of Elnora; and Angie (Kelly) Brashear of Washington. Norma was blessed with twenty grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandson.

During her lifetime, Norma mourned the loss of her parents, Carl and Irma Alberti; her husband, Noble VanLue; her infant son, Gary Edward VanLue; her daughter, Debbie VanLue; her brother, Carl Phillip Alberti; and sisters, Barbara Hart and Phyllis Norris.
