Barbara (Rich) Smith age 65 of Washington passed away on Monday at 10:36 AM at Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes. She was born on November 9, 1941 to Jack and Martha Jean (Richett) Rich in Crawfordsville, Indiana. She had worked for Alan Bubalo at Edward D. Jones for 29 years and was a member of St. Simon Catholic Church. Surviving are one son and daughter in-law, Bret and Laura Smith of New Albany, Indiana; one son in-law Kenneth 'Butch' Bauer of Jasper; three grandchildren, Hilary Bauer and Lucas Bauer both of Jasper, and Garrett Smith of New Albany; one sister and brother in-law, Pat and Bob Kiefer of Brownsburg; and one brother and sister in-law, Michael and Nena Rich of Las Vegas. She was preceded in death by her husband, Barney Smith; one daughter, Sheri Smith Bauer; and one sister, Janet Bright. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM Friday at St. Simon Catholic Church with Father Gordon Mann as celebrant. Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday from 4 to 8 PM with a wake service at 4 PM at St. Simon Catholic Church. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
