Obituary
Harold Wilson, age 93, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Thursday September 27, 2018 at the home of his son Greg, in Palo Cedro, California.
Harold was born in Montgomery, Indiana to George W. Wilson and Rose (Colvin) Wilson and was one of 12 children. He joined the U.S. Navy in 1943 and was stationed in England where he participated in the Normandy Invasion in 1944. After an Honorable Discharge in 1946, Harold volunteered to serve in the US Naval Reserves until 1952. He married Adeline Kijewski in 1950. He moved his family to California in the early 1960’s and was a member of the International Carpenter’s Union until he retired. After the passing of his wife he moved back to Indiana in the mid 1980’s and settled in Washington Indiana. He married Mary (Dennis) Miley in 1997. He enjoyed a wonderful life with Mary until her passing in 2017. Harold moved to California and spent his remaining time living in the home of his son Greg and daughter-in-law Donna.
Harold is survived by his sister Betty McDonald of Indianapolis, Indiana; sister Jessie Bullock, of Greenwood, Indiana; his four children, Gregory (Donna) Wilson of Palo Cedro, California; Diana (Steve) Appling of Oceanside, California; Kevin Wilson of Vancouver, Washington; Patty (Kelly) Stout of San Jose, California; Stepson Jerry (Julia) Miley of Montgomery, Indiana, 6 grandchildren and many great grandchildren.
Services will be held October 17, 2018. Visitation will begin at 9:30 am at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church in Washington Indiana. A memorial mass will be held at 11 am followed by the burial at St. John’s Cemetery in Washington, Indiana. Please contact Ed Lee Mortuary in Washington Indiana with any questions about the services.
