Obituary

Gerald "Gerry" Evans, age 83, of Washington, left this world on Sunday in the arms of his loving wife, Yvonne. Gerry was born into this world on December 10, 1925 in Shoals, Indiana, the youngest of twelve children of Alice and George Evans. Gerry retired in 1988 to Washington after living in California. While living in California he managed Lion Moving and Storage for thirty years. He was a US Navy veteran of World War II having served his country for four years. Gerry was first married to Bonnie (Queen) Evans and after her death he married Yvonne "Susie" (Etienne) Evans on June 4, 1994 and she survives. Gerry is also survived by one sister, Isma Brothers of Loogootee and one brother, Walter Evans and his wife, Edna of Washington; one sister in-law, Jane Evans of California; nieces and nephews; golfing buddies; and a town full of loving friends. May God reward all who loved and cared for Gerry. He had a heart filled 'with Love for all'. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Wednesday at his parish church, Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church with Father Gordon Mann as celebrant. Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery. His visitation will be Tuesday February 24, 2009 from 4 to 8 PM with a wake service at 4 PM and on Wednesday from 8:30 TO 9:30 AM at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church.
