Sarah A. Thompson age 72 of Washington passed away on Friday at 7:15 PM at Washington Nursing Center. She was born on April 1,1934 in San Angelo, Texas to the late Thomas and Hazel (Heflin) Humphrey. She was a 1952 graduate of San Angelo High School. She was a member of Bethany Christian Church where she was involved in a Bible study group. She had been a volunteer for Feed My Sheep. Sarah enjoyed as a homemaker putting her talents and love of gardening, arts and crafts to good use for the work of the Lord. Surviving is her husband Charles 'Chick' Thompson whom she married on July 31,1952. Also surviving are three daughters; Vicki Thompson of Indianapolis, Shirley Becker of Independence, Ky., and Teresa Mumma of Lyons, In., 5 grandchildren; Ryan Armes of Vanderburgh, CA., Brett Armes of Kennesaw, Ga., Bradley Mumma of Elnora, Heather Mumma of Terre Haute, and Anthony Mumma of Lyons, In., one great granddaughter; Abigail Marie Armes of Vanderburgh, Ca., and one brother; Tommy D. Humphrey of Charlotte, NC. Sarah was preceded in death by her parents; Thomas and Hazel Humphrey. Funeral services will be 10:00 AM on Wednesday at Ed Lee Mortuary with Bro. Matt Merold officiating. Entombment will be in Sugarland Memory Gardens' Mausoleum. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 4 to 8 pm at Ed Lee Mortuary Memorials donations my be made to the American Cancer Society.
