Obituary

Eugene Franklin Holscher, age 90, of Wheatland, Indiana, went to be with the Lord Monday, February 16, 2009 at 5:50 p.m. at Gentle Care of Vincennes. Eugene was born June 7, 1918 in Knox County, Indiana, the son of Gerhard William Holscher and Anna Mary (Lux) Holscher. He was the second of three siblings. On October 7, 1942, he married Eva Margaret Cook. Gene lived his entire life in and around Knox County, Indiana. He was a farmer by profession. He was a member of Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church. He is survived by his son and daughter in-law, Gary and Casey Holscher of Melbourne, Florida; his daughter in-law, Jackie Holscher of Vincennes, Indiana; three grandchildren Mary Morosetti, Kristen Smith, and Ryan Holscher; and Four great grandchildren, Hunter Smith, Gage Smith, Nicholas Morosetti, and Zachary Morosetti. Eugene was preceded in death by two sons, David Dean Holscher and Randall Mitchell; his two brothers, Robert Holscher and Clarence Holscher; and his ex-wife, Eva Margaret Hart. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Friday at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church in Washington with Father Gordon Mann as celebrant. Burial will follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery in Vincennes. Visitation will be Thursday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Ed Lee Mortuary in Washington with a wake service at 4 p.m. The family of Eugene wants to give a sincere thank you to Gentle Care for the loving care they provided for him.
