Obituary

Judith A. Gray left her beloved family at 3 a.m. Saturday at Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes. Born January 3, 1941 in Washington she was the daughter of Mary Catherine Seidel. She was raised by John and Julia Seidel. She attended St. Simon Grade School and Washington Catholic High School. She was a member of St. Simon Church and retired from Perdue Foods in 2003 after 22 years of service. She is survived by her husband, Steve Gray, whom she married December 21, 1974; two daughters and sons-in-law, Peggy Sue and Dennis Smith of Indianapolis and Elizabeth Ann and Chuck Briner of Vincennes; one son, Harry Lee Johnson Jr. of Indianapolis; seven grandchildren, Shane Warthen of Washington, Chris Warthen and Jodi Lane both of Martinsville, Jessica Roach and her husband Ray of Indianapolis, Tiffany Hill and David Hill both of Washington, and Katie Johnson of Indianapolis; seven great-grandchildren, Jordan Roach of Indianapolis, Kaden and Logan Warthen and Siya Lane all of Martinsville, Gabriel and Johnathon Abel both of Washington, A. J. Johnson of Indianapolis, and Christopher Logston, whom she was raising, of Washington; a very special sister and friend, Sally Lunsford of Huntingburg and sisters, Jackie Purdue and Joan Goodwin both of Washington, Sherry and Dean Kaiser of Valparaiso, Christy Craig and Laurel of FL, Debbie and Greg Clements of Coal City, and Donna and Pat Voges of Shoals; a brother and sister-in-law, Steve and Lynn Garner of Atlanta, GA; a special nephew and his wife, Kevin and Phyllis Ramsey of Huntingburg and several nieces and nephews; special uncle and aunt, Carl and Mona Seidel of Washington; her father-in-law, Royce Gray, and sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Jane and John Roach, Pauline and Bill Fisher and Sue Taylor all of Washington, and Joe and Betty Gray of Loogootee. She is preceded in death by a son, Michael Lee Johnson; a grandson, Michael Lee Johnson; her mother and step-father Mary Catherine and John E. Garner; and one brother, John Garner. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Simon Catholic Church with Father Gordon Mann as celebrant. Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at Ed Lee Mortuary with a wake at 4 p.m. There will also be visitation at St. Simon Church Tuesday from 8 a.m. to 9.30 a.m. Online condolences may be made a www.edleemortuary.com.
