Obituary

Lillian M. Cahill, age 91 of Washington, passed away at 6:45 AM on Thursday at Hillside Manor Nursing Home. She was born on May 12, 1918 in Washington to William and Hazel (Koleman) Garner. She was a homemaker and a Member of Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church. She also had served as a pink lady at Daviess Community Hospital for over 20 years. She is survived by three daughters, Joanna Jones of Washington, Sara Jane Potts of Louisville, Ky., and Jean Romain of Michigan; one son, John Cahill of Washington; five grandchildren, Greg Potts and his wife Mary Beth, Christine Terry and her husband Michael, Amy DeNise and her husband David, Andy Allen and his wife Alexis, and John Cahill Jr. and his wife Lisa; ten great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by husband, Joseph F. Cahill on July 11, 1980 whom she had married on February 1, 1941. She was also preceded death by her mother, Hazel Allen; her father, William Garner; her great aunt and uncle, William and Emma Wykoff who raised her; and two sisters, Mary Lucas and Myrtle Allen. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church with Father Gordon Mann as celebrant. Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday from 4 to 8 PM at Ed Lee Mortuary with a wake service at 4 PM. Memorial donations may be made to St. John Cemetery.
