M Merlin & Beth Wittmer September 11, 2008

Dear Linda, Steve, Michelle and and extended Troutman Family, I read of Don's passing today in the Washington paper. You have my deepest sympathy.Throughout highschool and later upon my trips home I often would run into Don and have a quick, but interesting conversation. He was always with a smile and good sense of humor. May God be with you and bless you in the days ahead. Merlin

Linda and Family, you are in our prayers and thoughts, as you have been for quite some time. Don will truly be missed by the many of us who had the pleasure of knowing and working with him. I worked for him at Crane, or rather we worked together in Supply. He was the boss, but he wasn't real good at being "bossy". He had too quick a smile and too good a heart to boss, he would rather help. We rode together some, he would haul riders as long as he had room for his Coke can. I know I am a better person for being around folks like Don. He will live in the hearts and memories of a lot of people for a long time.

Michelle and Family, I know it is so hard to let a loved one go and we do so with much sadness. You dad was a very kind man and no doubt has went to a better place. Michelle, know that you and family are at the top of my prayer list. Take care and focus on family right now. Don't worry about work. It will be here when you get back.

Linda, It was a great pleasure for me to spend some time with you here in Indianapolis. I thought maybe you would enjoy this reading: HE IS GONE You can shed tears that he is gone, or you can smile because he lived. You can close your eyes and pray that he will come back, or you can open your eyes and see all that he has left. Your heart can be empty because you can't see him, or you can be full of the love that you shared. You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday, or yo can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday. You can remember him and only that he is gone, or you can cherish his memory and let it live on. You can cry and close your mind, be empty and turn your back, or you can do what he would want: smile, open your eyes, love and go on. May God Bless you and all of your family as you go though this most difficult time.

Dear Linda and family, I read with sadness about Don this morning online as Dave and I are in Florida. You have our heartfelt condolences. I know how fortunate you and Don have been in your lives to have experienced such great love and companionship together. Don is now in a wonderful place, with God in heaven and I know that you will be together there. I know that you are a strong person as I have witnessed this firsthand. Rely on others and your family. They will be a great blessing to you as you and Don have blessed so many persons during your years together.I love you and will continue to keep you in my prayers. Susan Chapman

Mrs, Troutman I wanted to express our heartfelt sympathy on behalf of your family. You have been in our thoughts and prayers. My mother genuinely grew to cherish the friendship you two shared while being at the rehab center everyday. Please know we will continue to keep you and your family in our daily prayers. For Linda and Michelle and Don's Family: He was a wonderful man. I worked in the EG&G office when he came to EG&G. (as Paula Barber then). He was always joyful and shared a good laugh! He initially came back to work "part time" after retirement to earn enough money for a riding lawn mower! He stayed longer as his "wish list" increased! We at Crane and EG&G will miss him. Thanks for sharing him with us.

Linda, You, Don, Michelle and all your family are in many of our prayers. Getting to know and become a part of St. Peters will always be so important to me, along with the CRHP members, especially.
