Obituary

Donald Troutman age 71 of Montgomery went to be with the Lord at 12:17 p.m. Saturday at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. Born December 14, 1936 in Daviess County, he was the son of Fred L. and May Olive (Hunter) Troutman. He was a 1955 graduate of Montgomery High School, a US Army veteran, a member of the Knight of Columbus, and a member of St. Peter Catholic Church. He retired from NSWC Crane in 1992 and from EG&G in 2007. He loved Nascar, mowing grass, mushroom hunting, but most of all spending time with his granddaughters. Surviving is his wife, Linda (Colvin) Troutman, whom he married November 28, 1964; one son and daughter-in-law, Stephen and Stephanie Troutman of Washington; one daughter and son-in-law, Michelle and Mike Pannell of Montgomery; three granddaughters, Chelsea and Shelby Smith of Montgomery, and Ashley Troutman of Odon; a brother, Ronald Troutman of Washington; two sisters, Phyllis Wolven and Barbara Cline both of Washington; a special nephew, Dick Grissom of Washington; four step-grandchildren, Tyler and Rachael Curry both of Washington, Greg Pannell of Montgomery, and Meagan Pannell of Loogootee; and three step-great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; a granddaughter, Megan Nichole Smith; and one brother, William Troutman. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Peter Catholic Church with Father Jim Koressel as celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Peter Cemetery in Montgomery. Full military graveside service will be conducted by the Washington American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars. Visitation will be 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at Ed Lee Mortuary with a prayer service at 3 p.m. and the K of C rosary at 7 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to Riley Children's Foundation, 30 South Meridian St, Indianapolis, Indiana 46204-3509.
