Joyce Sue Hess age 61 of Montgomery passed away on Thursday at 4:30 PM at eastgate Manor Nursing Home. She was born on January 21,1945 in Mansfield, Arkansas to Novella (McCarty) and Byron Johnson. She married Keith Hess on February 11,1961. She was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church. Joyce loved mowing the lawn and going fishing, but the joy of her life was her five loving grandchildren. Surviving are her husband Keith Hess, her mother Novella Johnson of Pittsboro, Indiana, 1 son and daughter in-law; Brandon and Susan Hess of Washington, 2 daughters and son in-law; Lori and Jeff Gaither of Washington and Tammy Hess of Kentwood, Michigan, five grandchildren Kristen Gaither, Haley Gaither, Ben Gaither, Garrett Hess, and Bradley Hess all of Washington, and two brothers Jerry Johnson of Pittsboro, Indiana and Ed Johnson of Indianapolis. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday at Bethel United Methodist Church with Rev. Marvin Cheek officiating. Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery. Visitation will be on Sunday from 4 to 8 PM at Ed Lee Mortuary and from 9:00 AM till the hour of service on Monday at the Church.
