William Adam "Bill" Bingham age 82 of Washington passed away at 10 a.m. Sunday at Washington Nursing Center. He was born February 13, 1926 in Loyall, Kentucky to William M. and Minnie Leota (Hyde) Bingham. He attended Alfordsville School and was a World War II US Army Veteran and a member of St. Simon Catholic Church. He worked for 17 years at McCords and retired in 1991 from Barr Reeve School Corporation after working as a custodian for 17 years. Surviving is his wife of 59 years, Margaret Mamie (Williams) Bingham, whom he married November 5, 1948; three daughters and sons in-law, Rose Darlene and Richard Brown of Loogootee, Leota Marie and Chris Havens of Lisbon, NY, and Paula Rene and Doug Coryell of North Vernon; two sons and daughters in-law, William Joseph and Karen Bingham of Vincennes, and Richard Lee Bingham of Washington; a brother, Cecil Bingham of Roanoke, VA; 15 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; and 5 great-great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; a son, David Ray Bingham; two daughters, Carol Jane Bingham and Mary Ann Bingham; a grandson, Grady Brown; two brothers, Bob and Jack Bingham; two sisters, Wilma Carlton and Jessie Bingham; and one great granddaughter. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Simon Catholic Church with Father Gordon Mann as celebrant. Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery. Full military rites will be conducted by the Washington American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars. Visitation will be 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Ed Lee Mortuary.
