Obituary

Virginia Mae Mangin, age 83, of Washington, passed away at her home at 7:05 PM on Thursday. October 10, 2013. She was born on July 2, 1930 in Decker, Indiana to John L. and Clementine (Vieck) Smith. She was a 1959 graduate of Washington Catholic High School. She was part owner of Mangin''s Produce Market. She was a faithful player at the Washington Catholic Bingo and was a devoted grandmother. She is survived by her husband William Bill'' Mangin whom she married on October 17, 1959; two sons and daughters in-law, Alan and Pauline Mangin of Washington, and William Michael and Beth Mangin of Terre Haute; son in-law, Lee Bennett of Washington; 6 grandchildren; Zachery Fisher of Evansville, Nick Fisher and Matt Fisher both of Washington, Jacob Mangin and Sarah Mangin both of Terre Haute, and Zella Taylor of Camby, IN; step grandchildren Tasha Alvis , Jacob Bennett and Shea Bennett all of Washington; and three step grandchildren; two brothers; John C. Smith of Washington and Robert Vieck of Vincennes, two sisters; Ruth Ann Mangin of Flat Rock, MI and Betty McDell of Terre Haute, He was preceded in death by her daughter, Susan Bennett, and one brother, Barney Smith. A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Tuesday at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church with Father Gordon Mann as celebrant. Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 pm Monday with a wake service at 4 pm at Ed Lee Mortuary.
