Virginia R. "Ginny" Barnett, age 85, of Washington, passed away at 3:45 p.m. Wednesday at Hillside Manor Nursing Center. Born October 14, 1926 in Washington she was the daughter of John B and Rosetta (Edmondson) Meyers. She had worked for Senior and Family Services for 24 years before she retired in November 2010. Surviving are three sons and daughters-in-law, Ed and Rita Barnett, Chris and Rocky Barnett, and John A. Barnett; one sister, Jeanette; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one step-grandchild; and two step great-grandchildren. Her husband, Carl J Barnett, whom she married in 1946, passed away in 1993. two brothers, John Meyers and Lawrence Meyers are also deceased. Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Sugarland Memory Gardens with Steve Daton officiating. Burial will follow in the cemetery.
