Verna Tomey Allen Klem, age 86, of Washington, passed away at 9:30 PM on Wednesday, February 28, 2018.

She was born on December 20, 1931 in Washington to Willard E. and Fern B. (Wheeler) Tomey. She was a secretary for GC Murphy's, Montgomery Ward and Drew Oldsmobile. She was also a committed member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Fraternal Order of Eagles holding a wide range of offices during her lifetime membership spanning over 40 years.

She is survived by her daughter, Sharon Walford; son, Arlen "Arky" Allen; Sister, Elinor Tomey Coleman Riggins; stepdaughters, Karen Petty, Jane Arthur and Barbara Petty.

She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Thurman Allen; second husband, William Klem; three brothers, Delbert Tomey, Leonard Tomey and Wayne Tomey; sister, Myrtle Burton; stepdaughter, Judy Klem.

A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Tuesday at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church with Father Paul Ferguson as celebrant. Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 – 8:00 PM on Monday at Ed Lee Mortuary with a Memorial Service by the Eagles 414 Ladies Auxiliary at 6:00 p.m. followed by the VFW Ladies Auxiliary memorial service.
