Verline Hill, age 85, of Washington passed away on Tuesday, October 22, 2019 at Emerald House.

Verline was born on June 22, 1934 in Daviess County to Arnold Barley and Ethel (Franklin) Barley. Verline was a Homemaker. She loved crocheting, knitting, quilting and reading. She is a member of Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church.

She is survived by two sons Joseph A.(Connie) Hill of Coal City, Marvin Lee (Kim) Hill of Grandview; two daughters Teresa (Jim) Baldwin of Effingham, Ill, Sue (Tim) Lents of Washington; daughter-in-law Cathy Hill of Evansville; a brother Leroy Barley of Washington; 10 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert A. Hill, who died October 7, 2000; son Robert R. Hill; brother Leo Barley and 2 grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, October 25, 2019 at Ed Lee Mortuary Downtown Chapel with Yvonne Evans officiating. Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Friday at Ed Lee Mortuary Downtown Chapel.
