Vera Pearl (Kilps) McLemore of Washington, Indiana passed away Saturday, May 16, 2026, at the Villages at Oak Ridge in Washington.

Vera was born on January 19, 1928, to the late Mathias and Theresa Kilps. She attended St. Simon Grade School and graduated from Washington High School. Vera married Donald Lloyd McLemore on November 1, 1947.

Vera worked at D.C. Murphy and later the Washington Times-Herald. She was a member of Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church.

Vera was preceded in death by her parents, Mathias and Theresa Kilps; her husband, Don McLemore; her brothers, Joseph Kilps and Dale Kilps; and her sisters, Doris Strange, Rita Burns, and Ruth Bradley.

Surviving Vera is her sister-in-law, Lorene Kilps, many loving nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 23, 2026, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. with Father Paul Ferguson officiating. Burial to follow at St. John Cemetery.
