Obituary

Tracy Allen Foote was born on July 25, 1968, in Indianapolis, Indiana. From the very beginning, he lived life in his own way—strong, creative, and full of personality. For over 35 years, he worked as a tattoo artist, and it wasn’t just a job to him. It was his passion. Through his work, he left pieces of himself with so many people—not just in ink, but in the conversations, the laughs, and the connections he made along the way. He knew and done other jobs but loved the ink that he made so many people happy with, that was his passion.

Tracy also fought a long, hard battle with stage 4 esophageal cancer. Through it all, he showed incredible strength. He kept going, stayed strong for his family, and never let it take away who he was. That strength carried him all the way to the very end.

More than anything, Tracy was a family man. He is survived by his wife, Debra Foote — his partner through everything, his constant, and someone who stood by his side with love and strength. He was a proud father to Shalynn Griffin Foote and her wife Julia Griffin, Destiny Osting and her husband Joshua Osting, Michael Daudy and his fiancé Maria Gaunt, Nicholas Daudy and his wife Stephanie Daudy, Sophia Daudy, and Carmen Foote, Christopher Foote, and Camden Foote. He loved his kids deeply, and he showed it in his own way—through his presence, his guidance, and the way he always had their backs. And if you knew Tracy, you knew how much his grandchildren meant to him. Cameron Osting, Caleb Osting, Caiden Osting, Matthew Short, and Karter Daudy—they were his pride and joy. They brought out a special kind of happiness in him that only grandchildren can.

We find comfort in knowing that he will be greeted in heaven by his mother, Reba Golden Foote, his father, Adam Golden, his brother, Bobby Eaton, his uncle, Larry, aunt Connie, and his very loved Grandmother Winnie Bell—and many more all waiting to welcome him home.

Tracy wasn’t perfect—none of us are—but he was real. He was someone you could count on to be exactly who he was, no matter what. He had a way of connecting with people, making them feel seen, and leaving an impression that stuck with you. He was more than a tattoo artist, more than a father, more than a grandfather—he was a great father to many, whether by blood or by bond. He helped shape lives, gave advice, shared stories, and left behind lessons that will carry on through all of us. Losing him leaves a space that can’t be filled. But his memory—his voice, his laughter, his love—will stay with us. We’ll see him in the stories we tell, in the strength of his family, and in the marks, he left on this world—both seen and unseen. He will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.

You made it all the way back to the beginning
