Teresa Ellen Horsting went to her heavenly home on Friday, April 17, 2026.

Teresa was born on March 22, 1961, in Washington, Indiana, to Ellen (Bacon) and Thomas Devine. She graduated from Washington High School and went on to build a life centered around love, family, and caring for others.

On June 17, 2000, Teresa was united in marriage to the love of her life, Francis “Frank” Horsting. Together, they shared 22 beautiful years of marriage, filled with devotion, laughter, and cherished memories, until his passing in May of 2022.

Teresa worked for 12 years at JayC Food Store before becoming a dietary aide at Daviess Community Hospital. In her later years, she lovingly devoted herself to caring for her husband, a role she embraced with deep compassion and selflessness.

She was a proud member of the Honor Guard, the American Legion, and the Eagles, and she attended Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church. Teresa found joy in life’s simple pleasures—camping, fishing, sitting around a warm campfire, and spending time outdoors surrounded by nature.

Above all, Teresa treasured her family. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, who were the light of her life. Known for her kind and caring heart, Teresa never met a stranger. Her warm personality and welcoming spirit led many to affectionately call her “Mom.” She was also quick-witted, strong, and always able to hold her own, leaving a lasting impression on everyone she met.

Those left to cherish Teresa’s memory include her cherished mother, Ellen (John) Bacon; her loving children, Jessica Batchelor, Barbara Tennant, Ben Horsting, Jeff Horsting, and Larry Horsting; 10 beloved grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren; her siblings, Rodney (Terri) Devine, Bill (Brenda) Devine, Pam (Jim) Browning, Jeff (Cindy) Devine, Brett (Cheri) Bacon, and Bianca Bacon; her sisters-in-law, Joyce (Mark) Ashcraft and Patty (Jerry) Melvin; and her brother-in-law, Bob (Marilyn) Horsting.

Teresa was preceded in death by her father, Thomas Devine; her beloved husband, Francis “Frank” Horsting; and her niece, Andrea Boes.

Teresa’s life was a beautiful reflection of love, strength, and kindness. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of those she touched.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 24, 2026, at Ed L. Lee Mortuary in Washington, Indiana. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., with the funeral service beginning at 1:00 p.m., officiated by Yvonne Evans. Burial will follow at Sugarland Memory Gardens.
