Sylvia Schnarr, age 93, went to her heavenly home on Monday, April 20, 2026.
Sylvia was born on March 7, 1933, to the late Mary (Matazinski) and Michael LaRocka. She lived a life centered on love, faith, and devotion to her family. As a homemaker, Sylvia created a warm and welcoming home where countless memories were made and cherished.
She found joy in life’s simple pleasures. Sylvia loved spending time bowling, trying her luck at the casino, and giving back to others through her volunteer work with St. Vincent de Paul. Her generous heart and willingness to serve others reflected the deep compassion she carried throughout her life.
A woman of strong faith, Sylvia was a devoted member of Our Lady of Hope and St. Vincent de Paul, where she found both community and purpose.
Those left to cherish Sylvia’s memory include her loving children, Michele (Jim) Eskridge and Carmin (Joan) Schnarr Jr.; her cherished grandchildren, Jessica (Brennan) Lynn, Samantha Schnarr, Christopher Newton, and Craig (Katie) Newton; and her precious great-grandchild, Ember Memering. She will also be fondly remembered by extended family and friends whose lives she touched.
Sylvia was reunited in heaven with her beloved husband, Carmin Schnarr Sr.; her parents, Mary and Michael LaRocka; and her siblings, Catherine LaRocka, Sam LaRocka, Mary Zysko, Elizabeth Dumaret, Lillian Wasik, Sonny LaRocka, Mickey LaRocka, and Joanne Windsheimer.
Sylvia will be remembered for her kindness, her quiet strength, and the love she so freely gave. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of all who knew her.
A visitation will be held on Monday, April 27, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. until 10:50 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church, with Father Juan Ramirez officiating. Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery.
