Steve A. Churchill, age 62 of Washington, passed away at 6:40 AM on Sunday at Daviess Community Hospital. He was born on June 18, 1948 in Washington to Elmer and Wanda (Culver) Churchill. He had worked for Restorative Inc. at Washington Nursing Center. He was a member of Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church, and was a past member of the Knights of Columbus and Eagles. He is survived by his wife Sheilda (Sheley) Churchill whom he married on May 15, 2000; his mother Wanda Churchill of Washington; two sisters, Julia (John) Wright of Whitman, West Virginia and Cathy (Bill) Welborn of Washington; three nieces Jonna Wright, Jodi McCloud, and Jennifer Welborn; and two nephews, John Derren Wright and Cody Welborn. He was preceded in death by his father, Elmer 'Woody' Churchill, and grandparents, Floyd and Julianna Churchill, and Clarence and Carrie Culver. A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM on Wednesday at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church with father James Koressel as celebrant. Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery.
