Stephen E. Smith, age 57 of Washington, passed away at 3:41 PM on Friday at St. Mary's Medical Center in Evansville. He was born on April 14, 1954 in Princeton to O. Edward and Patty (Poe) Smith. He was a 1972 Graduate of North Daviess High School. He served in the US Air Force from 1972 to 1975 as a engine prop mechanic. He is survived by one daughter and son in-law, K. Dawn and Collin Abbott of Washington; his mother, Patty Smith of Odon; one sister and brother in-law Lisa and Denny Smith of Odon; one granddaughter, Meagan Pate of Mission, Texas; three step grandchildren, Zane Abbott and Rowdy Abbott both of Washington, and Whitney Abbott of Odon; two step great granddaughters, Shayla Abbott and Hailey Doerner of Odon; and one niece, Heather Smith of Oakland City.
