Henrietta 'Ruth' (Burkhardt) Green age 88, of Washington, passed away on Sunday at 2:55 PM at Washington Nursing Center. She was Born on March 2, 1921 in Daviess County to Henry and Mary (Melton) Burkhardt. She was a member of Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church, Legion of Mary and the Daughters of Isabella. She is survived by several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Joe Green on November 18, 2005, whom she married on October 18, 1941. She was also preceded in death by six sisters, Helen James, Pearl Bowling, Anne Wilson, Josephine Strickland, Margaret Kalanquin, and Lucille Burkhardt; and five brothers, Joseph Burkhardt, Charles Burkhardt, John Burkhardt, Pete Burkhardt, and Hap Burkhardt. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:00 AM on Wednesday at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church with Father Gordon Mann as celebrant. Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery.
