Ruth Imogene Durnil, age 86, of Washington, passed away on Monday at 12:45 at Daviess Community Hospital . She was born on July 31, 1923 in Montgomery to Cecil and Clara (Smith) Booker. She was a 1942 graduate of Washington, High School and was a member of Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church. She had been a housekeeper for the Catholic Community of Washington. She is survived by one son and daughter in-law, David and Dawn Durnil of Washington; two grandsons and their wives, Trig and Susan Durnil of Washington, and Seth and Allison Durnil of Grandview; six great grandchildren, Nick Durnil, Lily Durnil, Noah Durnil, Mason Durnil, Nolan Durnil, and Haden Durnil; two sisters, Lucille Strange of Odon and Thelma Cassler of Indianapolis; and one brother Harold Booker of Washington. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hanley Durnil on December 7, 1975, whom she had married on April 8, 1943. She was also preceded in death by one son Ralph Durnil; three sisters, Mary Neidge, Virginia Booker and Dorothy Booker; and two brothers, Robert Booker and Ralph Booker. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Friday at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church with Father Gordon Mann as celebrant. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery.
