Ruth V. Bies, age 90 of Washington, passed away at 9:12 AM on Thursday at Daviess Community Hospital. She was born on November 16, 1920 in Daviess County to James and Cecelia (Delaney) Wilson. She was a 1940 Graduate of Washington High School and was a US Navy Veteran of World War II. She was a member of the Washington American Legion and Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church. She was a very respected artist. She is survived by her husband, Leonard Bies, whom she married on January 26, 1947; one sister Millie Lett of Omaha, Nebraska; and several nieces and Nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, and one brother, Norman Wilson. A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Tuesday at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church with Father Gordon Mann as celebrant. Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery with Military graveside rites by the Washington American Legion and VFW. Visitation will be from 8 to 9:45 AM on Tuesday at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church.
